Biography

Early life and ancestry

Garikoph Perat was born on 9-12 1163 TT. At the time of his birth, Garikoph's maternal grandfather Amkar Bokok was Living King, whilst his paternal grandfather Tairuk Perat was the Leader of the Perat. Both positions that Garikoph would go on to fill.

Following the death of Amkar Bokok and the election of Targhan Skrake on 26-7 1147 TT the Bosken Perikat decided to endorse the Leader of the Perat as the next Living King. Garikoph was the Leader of the Perat by the time Targhan died on 14-10 1122 TT and was elected Living King on 29-10 1122 TT.

Preparation for the Andu Subjugation

All trade between the Andu Kur and Akaria ended in 1248 TT. Since then the Andu Kur had gone through a series of famines and epidemics and a civil war. With the Andu Kur in a perpetually weakened state, Garikoph announced that Akaria was preparing for an invasion and annexation of the Andu Kur on On 16-5 1120 TT.

On 13-10 1120 TT, Garikoph announced that his son-in-law Umanay Deram would be his second in command during the invasion. Both Kubutai, Leader of the Bokok and Haranko, Leader of the Lakar, criticised Garikoph for putting a Deram into a position they thought should have been reserved for a member of their perikat. Garitoph defended the appointment in a public speech, claiming he was doing as Kadar did when he made Atet of the Deram his second in command.

By Garikoph's time, most of the Kadrikes had their own private army. Garikoph issued his 12th Dictate on 24-11 1120 TT, granting the Living King the right to temporarily take command of the Kadrike Armies if there is a "threat to Akarian existence" that needs to be defeated. The majority of the Kadrike Armies' equipment was outdated by Living Army standards. Garikoph was aware of this and entered into talks with the Oceanic Council, who he hoped would assist with equipment manufacturing. An agreement was reached on 5-1 1122 TT. It was decided that both the Kingdom of Akaria and the Weer would help fund the creation of one city-sized production facility. The facility opened on 12-4 1125 TT and was named Orosken after Garikoph's grandmother Orokar Perat.

Death

Garikoph never fully recovered from his injury. He grew seriously ill in early 1103 TT and on 24-2 1103 TT he was moved from Ablesken to the town of Lamoro where it was hoped that the warm air would improve his condition. He died in Lamoro on 7-3 1103 TT, which was coincidently the second anniversary of Urdono's execution.
