Mountange is the central-most province in the Republic of Utlia. Mountange is the most populous province on the island, with the most populous city in Utlia, Orena-Ut located within it.

History

Mountange was officially designated following the Azztanist Annexation, when Wynlid divided up the now fully controlled island into provinces.

Geography

Mountange is Utlias most mountain dense province, the tallest mountain in Utlia, Mt Wynlid is located just north of Orena-Ut. The harsh elevation of the province led to it being mostly inhabited by merriyem until the 60TTs, when people braved the mountains in search of metals during a mining boom. Orena-Ut is located centrally in Mountange, while the province second largest city, Mersen-Ut is located along the northern valley. The northern valley is a region within Mountange near the shore where the mountains drop off into a plateau, this region is fully hemmed in by mountains and wasn't discovered until Vyren Kiyrn and his men charted it during their expeditions.

Economy

The main driver of the economy in Mountange is mining, mostly uranium in the post-calming days, in the past incredibly dense with iron and silver, oversaturation during the mining boom of the 60s has led to it being much harder to find those minerals on your own.

The city of Orena, being Utlias largest city is the economic backbone of the province.

Culture

Mountange is Utlias most diverse province, with the most Akarian, and eeean citizens. The majority of people are either Utlian or Merriyem, the Merriyem are much denser in the north, their old territory has very few Utlians within it.

Infrastructure

Mountange has generally low amounts of infrastructure because of high costs to build through mountains.

Rail

There are 2 major Ut-Rail stations, one in Mersen and one in Orena.

Road

The north-south highway passes by the city of Orena.
