9 PC Nongban Food Shortage

In 9 PC, due to the loss of Ronatana during the Tun'ilhameng Crisis and the the Confederated Nations of Niueyjar's blockade of Nongba, the Yotumic Divisionary Federation (YDF) announced that they would not have enough grain to fully satisfy their population's energy requirements.

Anouncement

On 21-1 9 PC several routinne anouncements were made by the departments of the YDF. Among these anouncements was the one made by the YDF Center for Rationing which predicted that YDF's grain supplies will fall short of the required minimum for the year. The YDF Agricultural Commission estimated that 150,000 tons of raw polbi grain or 15% of the YDF's annual grain supply was still on on Ronatana. Yun Yan'il made a statement stating that reclaiming the lost grain was a high priority.

Attempts at resolution

On 12-2 9 PC, the Yotumic Divisionary Federation (YDF) paid gave the Collective Kel-Elemi Republic sapphires so that they would catch and transport several Kel-Elemi snakes to Nongba to start a breeding program to try to resolve the food shortage. Follwoing the arrival of the snakes on 21-2 9 PC, the CNN vowed to improve their blockade. The snakes escaped from captivity on 23-2 9 PC and killed 668 people.

Foriegn aid

Kel-Elemi began attempting to sell grain to the YDF on 6-4 9 PC, but their shipments were intercepted by the CNN's blockade.

The YDF agreed to buy Akarian and Utlian grown grain from the Kingdom of Akaria on 23-4 9 PC in exchange for copper. Grain was delivered via the use of stealth prawns who bypassed the blockade by going under it. They then deployed buoyant containers full of grain that washed up on shore. For every container received, the YDF put aside a sum of copper to be given as payment once the blockade was resolved.
