The Living King, is the spiritual leader of Kadarism, and serves as the head of state of the Kingdom of Akaria. The current Living King is Harakar Oken, who was elected on 30-10 2 TT.

According to Kadarist tradition, the title of Living King was founded by Kadar on 30-10 1795 TT with his declaration of divinity. In ancient times, the Living Kings helped spread Kadarism by leading the armies of Akaria against non-Kadarist foes. In the times leading up to the seas calming the Living King's duties were limited to resolving disputes between Osslettes and carrying out ceremonial duties.

Following the grand calming the Living King, as sovereign of Akaria gained direct authority over all matters taking place beyond the shores of the island nation.

History

Origins

Historically the title of Living King was beleived to have been created by Kadar on 30-10 1795 TT alongside his declaration of divinity. On 18-3 44 TT the Ossbosche Assmebly voted to permit the Oceanic Council to release almost all documents that once belonged to the Weer Nation. From these documents It was revealed that the Living King as a title only began being used following Ekanko of the Deram's takeover of the Akarian Confederation on 15-10 1678 TT.

During the Akarian Confederation

During it's early days the Akarian Confederacy was a loose tribal confederation with very little codified law defining the exact powers and responsibilities of the Living King. During this time the Living King's power shifted from absolute to virtually none. The process of codifying powers and responsibilities of the Living King began shortly after the absorption of the Weer Nation on 8-6 1608 TT.

Following the absorbtion of the Weer Nation the Living King took on the role of an absolute monarch, though much how the country was run was managed by the various tribal groups that made up the confederation and later on their Ossbosches.

In 1198 TT the Andu Kur began building up their military. On 20-5 1198 TT the Living King at the time, Matart of the Kakay announced that the confederation would undertake massive reforms to counter Andu aggression. These reforms would lead to the Akarian Confederation being reorganised into the Kingdom of Akaria on 19-1 1196 TT.

Pre-calming

During the proccess of creating the Kingdom of Akaria, Matart had to give up a sizable portion of the Living King's power to the Ossbosches who ruled the Osslettes that were Akaria's new internal regions. The power's of the Ossbosches in this early era of the Kingdom was still very limited.

On 21-8 594 TT Living King Arikarin Deram used the Akarian Army to remove the Ossbosche of East Able from his position. The deposed Ossbosche of East Able, Amarkil Arkara asked his second cousin, the Ossbosch of Saeskar to help him get beack into power. The Ossbosch of Saeskar Makaro Arkara began contacting other members of the Arkara Family. On 29-10 594 TT Makaro had the sizable he had assembled attack East Able begining the Able War. During the war the Banokan, Perat and Kakay holy families directly supported the Arkara Family.
