Background

The Grand Calming took place on 18-1 1 PC allowing the nations of the Attu Archipelago to contact each other. The Niueyjara Civil War began on 14-3 1 PC with the Nation of Niueyjar's de facto leader Vidar Astridson attempting to hide the conflict from the outside world. This deception led the other nations of Attu to treat Niueyjar as if they weren't fighting a civil conflict.

Incident

On 15-5 2 PC, Erak was attacked by Reformers. Docked at the city's port at the time was an Utlian ship delivering Utlian Mor Crabs to Vidar Astridson. Vidar had the crew of the ship detained whilst attempting to cover up the attack by claiming that an earthquake had injured the sailors and that they were receiving medical attention. President of Utlia Yyme Braia and his ally Harakar Oken of Akaria did not believe this beginning the Utlian Sailor Crisis

Operation Crab Rescue

The Akarian-Utlian Alliance assenbled a strike force to rescue the Utlians. The strike force was composed of two wings, the first was to locate the captives and the second was to rescue them. Operation Crab Rescue began when the first wing of the strike force landed in Erak on 18-5 2 PC. They managed to discover the location of the captives and departed shortly after. The second wing landed on Niueyjar the next day and made their way to the Ostag Prison where they freed the captive sailors along with several hundred other prisoners. The second wing and the sailors were extracted on 20-5 2 PC.

Aftermath

Following the rescue of the captives, the Akarian-Utlian Alliance publicly revealed the operation's existence. Vidar during and after the announcement Vidar made various death threats towards Harakar and Yyme along with their families and people. On 9-12 2 PC, after lengthy planning, the Akaria-Utlian Alliance began supplying the Reformers with weaponry leading to Vidar's death on 7-3 4 PC.

This incident is credited with establishing Akaria–Utlia relations as a long-term fixture of Attu politics.
