Johnakar Oken was the Leader of the Oken and the father of Living King Harakar Oken.

Biography

Early life

Johnakar Oken was born in Oksken on 6-6 71 TT to Adar Oken and Mynine Ikane. Johnakar was educated in the Naikar Memorial School in Okenate close to their family home. Johnakar attended the 1st Oken Business School from 13-2 53 TT to 13-12 47 TT.

After graduation Johnakar moved to the town of Adazete in the Ald Osslette where he established the Oken-Adazete Supply Shop on 17-12 47 TT. The land and the building for the shop was purchased by Johnakar's aunt Amilate Oken in exchange for a third of the newly made company. Another third of the company was given to Johnakar's brother Kazant Oken in exchange for stocking the store with goods he produced.

By 40 TT the Oken-Adazete Supply Shop, now often called the OA Supply Shop had locations in every major town in the Ald Okenate. Johnakar bought Amilate Oken's share of the company on 18-3 39 TT.

Johnakar's father Adar, who was by this point the Leader of the Oken, died on 12-8 34 TT. In his will he left Johnakar several of his factories in Oksken. Kazant was elected to succeed his father as Leader of the Oken.

4th Oken Election

Kazant died on 24-8 29 TT triggering the 4th Oken Election.

Kazant's son, Kuzakar Oken was viewed by many as a serious contender for the position, despite his young age. On 4-9 29 TT, Johnakar Oken gave Kuzakar his shares of the OA Supply Shop in exchange for Kuzakar using his five electoral votes to support Johnakar and anouncing that he was not looking to succeed his father.

Johnakar gave half of his factories in Oksken to Amilate on 25-9 29 TT in exchange for her five votes and her husband Kazar Oken's fifteen.

On 18-10 29 TT, he managed to convince his mother-in-law, Lakar Oken to use her 15 votes to support him.

The election concluded on 24-10 29 TT with Johnakar receive the most votes out of any other candidate making him the Leader of the Oken.

Leader of the Oken

As the Leader of the Oken, Johnakar was entitled to submit his nominee for the next Living King to the Ossbosche Assembly. Despite being a wealthy Kadrike the Oken was fairly minor within Akarian politics and Johnakar's nominee being selected was unlikely. Johnakar did not nominate himself for the position and instead nominated his six year old son Harakar. Johnakar explained in a speech that his work as the Leader of the Oken was far more important than anything that he could do as the Living King.

On 9-12 10 TT, Tyshok Perat published a document which linked the Arkara to the deaths of multiple prominent figures across Akaria. These revelations began the False War. During the False War, Johnakar had the Oken sell the major Kadrikes large amounts of weapons. He also used the war to allow the Oken to purchase companies and properties from Kadrikes who were normally uncooperative towards the Oken. Living King Bantar was assassinated on 13-7 4 TT. There was much debate within the Ossbosche Assembly as to who to replace Bantar with. The once esteemed Arkara had attempted to overthrow the assembly, whereas the Perat and their allies were suspected to have been behind the assassination of Bantar. On 30-10 2 TT the Ossbosche Assembly named Harakar Oken Living King. As the father of the Living King Johnakar became one of Harakar's closest advisors.

Following the Grand Calming it was deemed necessary to establish a unified international merchant fleet to better trade with the newly discovered nations of the Attu Archipelago. Johnakar assisted Harakar in creating Harakar's 9th Dictate which established the Akarian Trade Fleet. The dictate was issued on 23-3 1 PC with Johnakar being made the high director of the new fleet. He used his position as the Leader of the Oken to lease a large number of ships for its members. His position gave Johnakar the power to act on Living King's behalf. One of his first actions as high director was to establish the Naikar Port which began construction two days after his appointment.

On 23-4 1 PC Johnakar secured a trade deal with the Republic of Utlia in which the Oken would send Utlia gunpowder and hydrochloric acid in exchange for coal. The gunpowder and acid were sent to Utlia using the Akarian Trade Fleet.

Johnakar housed Harakar at his palace in Oksken during the Arkara Uprising of 3 PC.

Between 24-1 5 PC, Harakar fell into a coma after consuming some dandelion bread and was confined to various hospitals throughout the Eastern Bloc until 20-6 5 PC. During this time, Johnakar as both a close adviser to Harakar and his father, took over most of his duties as Living King. On 22-4 5 PC Harakar regained after consiousness and spoke on the Inter-governmental Radio System. He was unable to form any complete sentance, only getting out a few non-sensical sentance fragments before being sedated. The day after Johnakar had him returned to Akaria due to concern that the people of Akaria might interpret Harakar's ramblings as a brown walk and that they might be upset with Utlia for depriving them of information regarding the Kings in Brown. Harakar fully awoke on 20-6 5 PC and resumed his duties as Living King.

On 1-4 6 PC Johnakar and Harakar brokered a deal in which Kuzakar Oken would purchase two plots of land in Siô eee to build factories and Alinikar Oken would start using government owned factories in Siô eee to produce bulk industrial goods.

On 11-3 8 PC Johnakar established Oken Citizenship, which was to be given to all residents of the Oken Kadrike.

Johnakar negotiated a trade agreement between the Oken and the Deram on 29-5 8 PC, following the collapse of Deram-Perat trade agreements.

Johnakar and Harakar met with Emperor Spyron, the Leader of the Clan Rodan and the Commissar of Halma on 19-3 9 PC in Oksken. At the meeting Harakar made Johnakar's daughter, Malanine Oken, the Akarian Ambassador to Spyron and sent her off with him.

On 28-3 10 PC, the ATFS Arakar of the Akarian Trade Fleet was destroyed by the Sorewa Liberation Uprising (SLU). Among the dead was Johnakar's grandson Bort Oken. Two days after the attack Harakar convened a meeting of the Akarian-Utlian Alliance in Oksken, which Johnakar attended. At the meeting it was decided that High Director of the Akarian Navy, Akrake Oken was to plan Akarian and Utlian intervention against the SLU.

Johnakar Oken represented Akaria (as High Director of the Akarian Trade Fleet) at the 12 PC Eastern Bloc Summit on 12-8 12 PC as Harakar was busy meeting with the Council of Akaria. At the end of the meeting Johnakar signed the 2nd Agreement Agreement.

Johnakar had a stroke and was hospitalised on 28-6 15 PC leading to his resignation as the High Director of the Akrarian Trade Fleet on 27-4 16 PC. Following his stroke Johnakar was in and out of hospitals until his death on 2-3 17 PC.

Legacy

A month after his death Ahabakar Oken named the East Oken Company outpost on Harakar's Rock "Johnakar" in his honour.
